About

Twenty years on
the building envelope.

Sun Glazing was founded by Mr. Madhusudhan in 2006, after years running an aluminum extrusion factory. What began as a local partnership on the Hyderabad airport project has since put close to seven million square feet of facade on buildings across Hyderabad and South India.

The story
2006

Founded in Secunderabad

Y. Madhusudhan — a mechanical engineer with a decade already behind him in aluminium extrusion — founds Sun Glazing & Fabrication. In November, the company signs its first subcontract: fabrication, assembly and glazing for Mero Asia Pacific at Hyderabad International Airport.

2006–08

The airport, and the apprenticeship

Working as Mero's fabrication partner across five buildings at the airport — the passenger terminal, the technical building, the ATC tower, the airport hotel — plus Ascendas International Tech Park in Chennai, the Hyderabad International Convention Centre and Deloitte.

It was job work: Mero owned the design, the drawings and the material. Sun Glazing owned the factory, the machines and the people. It was also an invaluable education in how a facade of international standard is built.

2008

Turnkey

The company begins taking on turnkey contracts — design, supply and installation under its own name.

2009

Standing on our own

Mero won the Delhi airport and moved north. We wanted to stay in Hyderabad, so the collaboration wound down amicably.

Within three months of standing alone, Sun Glazing had produced its own unitized system drawings, its own U-value calculations and its own wind-load reports, working alongside IIT Madras. We had become an engineering company in our own right.

How we work

Mockups first. Warranty after.

Mockups

One mockup for every unique facade element on every project. Mockup drawings are approved by the facade consultant, architect, client and PMC before fabrication — and design changes after the first mockup are incorporated.

15-year warranty

All fabrication and installation work is covered by a 15-year warranty.

10 years of after-sales

After-sales service for 10 years — and we've honoured it well beyond that. Customized after-sales packages are available on request.
